In order to achieve the best effects in any weight-loss program it is a beneficial idea to include some aerobic activity in it, and anyone who has done that will tell you that it’s an absolute necessity. Combining a diet with a healthy workout always makes the difference. Bear in mind though that aerobic will not work immediately with weight loss. You probably gained those extra pounds in about 3-4 weeks, and this can only tell you that you’ll need more than this to lose them. But aerobic activity is still imperative.
You just need to include it in your daily workout. Of course there are people who claim that even three times per week is more than enough, however my opinion is that such a program can help you maintain your shape only, but losing weight calls for an everyday workout. One word of though, please consult your doctor before starting an intensive aerobic workout.
Rapid walking is considered to be one of the most aerobic activities nowadays. The biggest attraction of this exercise is its simplicity and cost......FREE!. Walking can be done virtually everyplace, both indoors and outdoors.
Swimming is a really excellent aerobic exercise. Being very easy on your joints, swimming is the actual epitome of a low-impact workout. However it is still not the most popular one for weight-loss seekers maybe because of the assumed embarrassment of wearing a bathing suit before you lose those pounds!
Jogging is another aerobic exercise which unlike swimming is very accepted for those wanting to lose weight. Personally I'm not a huge fan though as it is a high-impact workout and takes its toll on your knees and ankles. You will have to decide whether the pros outway the cons.
No matter what aerobic activity you plan to commence, be it jogging, swimming or walking, it is imperative to do some light warm up exercises first before every workout. Stretching your muscles prepares them and the whole body for the actual workout and helps you avoid injuries, thus making the training more agreeable and helpful.
